Ahaana Krishna's special Telugu (travel) plan

Ahaana Krishna, another star kid on the block, loves to travel as much as she loves to act. But to Ahaana, it’s not travel for the sake of travel; she loves to see new places, lands unseen and be in the thick of things. She believes that travel can widen one’s horizons. Exposure to other people and their cultures is a big boost to one’s individuality and confidence, she says.

In a chat with Onmanorama, she says how she overcame her fear to travel alone.

Her education in Chennai saw to it that she would have to come down to her home in Thiruvananthapuram quite often, all by herself. Though nervous and diffident initially, she soon learnt to overcome her fears. These trips made a big impact on her spirit of independence.

So far, she’s been to just two places abroad, one to Dubai, and the other to Singapore. Her trip to Singapore was one great joy ride, says Ahaana. She remembers being awestruck by the experience inside Universal Studios in Singapore. The studio left her with the effect of being inside a dream world.

The Dubai jaunt was special in that it was while pottering around the busy Arab malls that she got the call to act in Njan Steve Lopez.

At Kodaikanal

Another trip which she terms “super” was the journey to Kodaikanal while shooting for Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela. The other shoots were in Thrissur and Ernakulam. The movie incidentally pictures a family on an outing and the climax was shot at the boating point of Kodaikanal Lake. It was here that Nivin Pauly pulled a fast one on her. He was the one pedaling the boat initially. He then neatly handed over the pedals to her. Ahaana remembers pedaling away to glory till her legs started hurting.

It was November and Kodaikanal had the right measure of cold and there was a lot of greenery around. The entire crew was in a bus and with Nivin Pauly, Srinda and Siju merry-making, it looked very much like a college tour.

T for Telugu, Travel

Ahaana has made out a list of all the places she loves to see and the North-East seems to be her priority.

She says she has always been envious of travel pictures her girl friends post on social media. Switzerland of course, is one swell place she would love to go to. The Maldives too is another dream destination. The blue seas and the resorts wafting in the waves make the islands a must-see place.

“I must save up and then jet out to the Maldives,” says the actor quite wistfully. The Telugu film industry seems to have caught her fancy for the simple reason that, that would give her a chance to see the world! Five songs mean five different foreign locations!

Love for Thiruvananthapuram

All said and done, her favorite location is her hometown Thiruvananthapuram where she was born and raised. She gets pepped up talking about her fondest place. “You have everything around the place. Within a radius of 60 km you have a hill station and a beach. The airport, the rail and bus stations are all closely connected. To top it all, we have of late, seen several food joints opening up here. The only missing link is a swanky mall, which I’m sure, will come up in a couple of years,” says the starlet.

Ahaana loves to zip around in her car. And her favorite time is when the daylight is gone and the neon lights brighten up the night skies and bathe the roads in a haze of yellow. She goes out then, when the streets are free and drives around enjoying that special feel from behind her wheel.
