Television anchor and actress Alina Padikkal is all set to realize her dream of marrying her beau as she would be exchanging wedding vows with Kozhikode-resident Rohit in August. What makes Alina stand out is her forthrightness and that quality has endeared her to hundreds of viewers.

Alina is passionate about travelling and loves to hit the road time and again to explore new destinations. But Rohit is a step ahead of the actress when it comes to touring as he is crazy about going on expeditions.

Love for driving

Most people opt to travel by bus, train or plane to reach the destination and the majority of them doze off while travelling. But, Big Boss’ fame Alina is into driving her own vehicle as she loves to know about and soak in the beauty of places on the way. “Rohit also loves to drive and after marriage, we are planning to visit many places and the travel wish list is pretty long. Rohit has made many foreign tours and also loves to explore nearby destinations,” says Alina.

Common passion

Alina and her fiancé have many things in common and are on the same page. But Alina has a liking for beaches while Rohit is more into hill stations. “As we both are crazy about travelling, I am fine with any destination,” notes the sought-after TV host. Alina is always in awe of the travel experiences of Rohit who had visited many exotic locations. “I want to travel to those places with Rohit after marriage. I am not particular that I should go to foreign countries as there many breath-taking destinations in our own Kerala. We both love bike trips and our dream is to visit Le Ladakh on a bike,” adds Alina.

After marriage, the usual practice is to go on a honeymoon trip but Alina and her fiancé are not for it. “But my friends are advising that we shouldn’t give honeymoon trip a miss and we may go to Maldives or Bali,” she says.

The first flop trip

Alina and Rohit went on a trip together, along with friends, when they were in college in 2014. At that time, Alina was staying in Bengaluru along with her parents and the tour was arranged when her father and mother went to visit their native place in Kerala. “I told my parents that we were going to Hyderabad to attend a seminar but we went to Puducherry. Unfortunately, my cell phone got switched off and when my mother called me she could make out that I was in Tamil Nadu from the voice messages of the service provider. I had to immediately return home following instructions from parents,” she adds.

After tying the knot, Alina wishes to go to Puducherry along with Rohit and send a selfie to her mother from there. A kind of revenge chuckles the actress.

Bengaluru life

Alina’s habit of going on long drives, that too alone, was worrisome for her mother. Once the popular TV anchor met with an accident while riding a bike and had a close shave with death. Alina was sent to Bengaluru to put some order into her life and for higher studies, and not surprisingly she had a jolly good time over there.

“Hands down, Bengaluru is the best place for me. I have been to the nook and corner of the metropolis and most places in the city are familiar to me. I love the city’s mouthwatering cuisine and ever-changing fashion trends,” she notes.

Alina, who is gearing up to become the daughter-in-law of Kozhikode, says that she loves Kozhikode and the city’s cuisine is simply marvellous. “I was fortunate enough to taste some delectable food and experience the warmth and love of people in Kozhikode and Kannur.”

A long list of travel plans

The couple has chalked out exhaustive plans to get a feel of Gokarna, Goa, Maldives, Leh Ladakh, and to make some short trips after marriage. “I am waiting to start my journey with Rohit,” concludes Alina.
