Young starlet Anju Kurian has charmed the Malayali and Tamil movie lovers with her incredible performances in a handful of roles. Anju, who debuted through Alphonse Puthren’s ‘Neram’ has also acted in many short films and music videos too. Moreover, she is a successful model too.

“You could overcome any hurdle in life just with a lovely smile. Happiness is an emotion that inspires many to live. I like to be always happy. Travelling makes me incredibly happy,” says Anju. The actress packs her bags and set out on trips whenever she gets some free time.

Anju is currently enjoying a relaxing holiday in the snowy Kashmir valley. The beautiful pictures that she has shared on her Instagram page has already captured the hearts of the netizens. The snow filled mountains of Gulmarg and the shikara ride on the iconic Dal Lake look splendid. Interestingly, Anju has also posted a picture in which she is seen enjoying her first snow fall.

The actress calls Kashmir as beautiful as a heart-warming poem. The Dal Lake looks magical during the winter. Those who have visited Kashmir vow that Dal Lake offers the most scintillating experience in the Kashmir valley. The lake would be frozen at many places during the winter. The old house boats from the Victorian era is the highlight of the Dal Lake which is touted as the ‘Jewel of Kashmir’.

Paradise on earth

Shikara boats are traditional style gondolas that are used in the Dal Lake. These have become a cultural icon that signifies the unique traditions of Kashmir. Besides tourism, shikara boats are used for harvesting sea weed, fishing and inland transport too.

The tourists can catch a glimpse of the Nehru Park, Char Chinar Island, Nishat, Shalimar gardens and Hazratbal Masjid during the shikara ride.

The Dal Lake doesn’t lose its magical beauty during the summer season when it gets filled with lotus flowers. The floating garden of Dal Lake, which is locally known as ‘Rad’ is quite famous. It is really easy to reach the lake as it is situated close to the town. Besides the Dal Lake, the tourists can also visit the Nigeen Lake to enjoy shikara rides. This lake is surrounded by snow capped mountains. The scintillating views of sun rise and sun set could be enjoyed from this lake.

Gulmarg

If Kashmir is the heaven on earth, then Gulmarg is hailed as the valley of flowers. Interestingly, Gulmarg is one of the most popular skating destinations in the country. This mesmerizing valley of flowers have become location for countless movies in various languages.

Gulmarg is a winter wonderland where you could enjoy snow for most part of the year. During the British era, the officers used to regularly visit Gulmarg to escape from the scorching heat of the North Indian states. Gulmarg is situated at around 14000 feet above the sea level. You could see the India-Pakistan border and the Pakistan occupied Kashmir if you trek through the snowy mountain paths. Moreover, the visitors could try their hands in adventure activities like ice skating and sleighing.
