Ever felt a fascination for the royal life? Live in a palace for a day like a  King perhaps? This palace at Kochi is your answer. You can live in the lap of luxury like a King at the Chittoor Palace. But there is only one booking at a time and a maximum of 6 people can be accommodated in the palace. Once the booking is made you get to enjoy all the luxuries of the palace. You can live like a King and Queen in this palace.

This palace was built for the Kochi Maharaja. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna near the palace. The King used to frequent this temple and after a point, he felt a desire to live here. That’s how he built the Chittoor Palace which is 50 metres from the temple.

Opulent Palace

This three-decade-old Palace which stands near the backwaters is now a private resort under CGS Earth. You need to take a boat from Kochi to reach here. Ideal for honeymooners you can have some lovely time gazing at the backwaters. You can walk along the palace done in ancient Kerala architecture and get royal vibes. Another highlight is their cuisine. They serve authentic age-old Kerala recipes served at the King's Palace and that too on a plantain leaf. They cook freshly caught fish daily. You can have your meals leisurely at the Verandah or the garden and you even get a private chef at your disposal.

The best thing about the stay is absolute privacy. There are two rooms on the ground floor and an attached drawing-room on the first floor. Each corner of the palace is adorned with antique furniture and other decorations. You are enveloped in nostalgia as you walk through the cemented corridors.

In the evenings, a sunset cruise on the backwaters will take you on a tour of your kingdom, chugging past idyllic villages snuggled amidst coconut groves. You return at dusk to diya-studded lawns with a glow that reflects your state of mind. If you wish to be entertained, performances can be arranged for – traditional dance and music artists will play exclusively for you as you lean back and savour the moment.
