New Delhi: Rashtrapati Bhavan's Udyanotsav, or the Festival of Gardens, at the famous Mughal Gardens in Delhi will be held from February 5 to March 8. President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate the Udyanotsav on Tuesday.
The annual festival of flowers at Mughal Gardens sees huge inflow of visitors. Amazing tulip and rose varieties are the major attractions along with pink roses and lilies.
Around 10,000 tulip flowers, 138 varieties of roses and about 5,000 flowers of different varieties await the enthusiasts at Mughal Gardens this year.
Flowers named after eminent historical personalities will pique the curiosity and wonder of visitors. Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, former President Pranab Mukherjee, Mother Teresa, John F Kennedy, and Queen Elizabeth have all lent their names to the roses in the garden. A rose flower named after the Prince of Monaco is eagerly anticipated this year.
Christian Dior, American Heritage, First Prize, Kiss of Fire and Double Delight are among the rose varieties adorning the Mughal Gardens. Rare varieties like Green Rose, Oklahoma and Blue Moon also add their aura to the place.
Around 5.18 lakh visitors thronged the festival last year. Designed by the architect of New Delhi, Edwin Lutyens, the Mughal Gardens emulate the pattern of the great British gardens.

The Udyanotsav will be open to public from 10am to 4pm on all days except Monday till March 8. Besides Mughal Garden, they can also visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan museum during this time. Entry is free.
Visitors must queue up to enter the Mughal Gardens. They can also log on to the website https://rashtrapatisachivalaya.gov.in and book a slot online seven days in advance to visit the flower festival.
