Entry tickets to tourism centres in Idukki to cost more from next week

Thodupuzha: The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) in Idukki has announced an increase in entry fees to the tourist centres under it.

Following the hike, which will come into effect next week, visitors to top destinations in Idukki such as Vagamon, Ramakkalmedu and Sri Narayanapuram will have to spend more to enter the spots.

The hike covers all categories of tourists, including children. At Ramakkalmedu, the new entry ticket fee for adults is Rs 25 and for children and senior citizens, Rs 15. In fact, there is a hike of Rs 5 for each ticket.

A DTPC official said that the ticket rates have gone up as the Goods and Services Tax (GST) has been included.
