Bengaluru bandh: Several flights cancelled, chaos at airport

Bengaluru: Over 40 flights were cancelled here on Friday following the statewide bandh to protest against the release of Cauvery River water to Tamil Nadu.

The Kempegowda International Airport authorities said that flights were cancelled due to operational reasons and passengers were informed of the same.

On their social media page, airport authorities wrote, “Passengers are requested to follow alerts from respective airlines, law enforcement agencies and media releases for further updates.”

According to ANI, 44 flights including 22 arrivals and 22 departures have been cancelled today. The strike was organised by pro-Kannada organisations, who assembled near the arrival gate of the airport to voice their protest, raising slogans.
