Thalassery - Mahe bypass: Toll rates, registration process and other details

The Thalassery-Mahe Bypass opens today, helping passengers cover a distance of 18.6 km from Muzhapilangad in Kannur to Azhiyoor in Kozhikode in just 14 minutes. PM Modi inaugurated it via video conferencing this morning. The 14-minute travel is a significant improvement from the previous 45-minute travel time on the route.

The bypass includes four river bridges in Anjarakandi, Kuyyali, Dharmadam, and Mahe, 21 underpasses, a railway flyover, and a toll plaza in Kolassery. Thalassery and Mahe, known as heritage cities, are also loved by tourists and others for their beauty, historical significance, culture and more. 

Toll rates implemented from March 11 morning
The collection of toll rates began at 8 am on March 11. If the vehicles have no Fastag, they will have to pay double the rates. The toll plaza also offers the facility to register for Fastag and recharge it. There will be no toll for two-wheelers and autorickshaws. The private vehicles of those living in the 20 km radius of the toll plaza will get a monthly pass for Rs 330.

The vehicle owners should produce their Aadhar card and Registration Certificate of the vehicle for the same. The various toll rates in the route are as follows:
