The city of Thrissur came alive with dazzling ‘sample’ fireworks, setting the tone for the upcoming Pooram festival. The Thiruvambady faction was the first to light up the skies, followed by a spectacular joint display that left spectators at the Vadakkunnathan Temple grounds in awe.
The excitement of Thrissur Pooram soared into the skies with the sample fireworks, culminating in a visual battle between the Paramekkavu and Thiruvambady factions. What began modestly soon escalated into a thunderous finale of synchronised explosions.
Thiruvambady initiated the fireworks, with Paramekkavu soon following suit, setting the sky ablaze with a mesmerising display. Lightning-like flashes and amittu shots (a traditional firework type) painted the sky with sound and colour. Paramekkavu’s fireworks were noted for their variety, blending traditional styles with a rich palette of colours.
Thiruvambady, while preserving traditional elements, also introduced unique firework types into the mix. Both factions showcased distinctive approaches in their amittu displays. A key highlight from Thiruvambady’s side was the strong message, “Say No to Drugs,” which stood out as the thematic centrepiece of their presentation.
