Rolls-Royce's first ever sports utility vehicle, Cullinan, has been launched in India. The car that shares its underpinnings - the Architecture of Luxury - with the Phantom VIII will cost Rs 6.95 crore ex-showroom in India. A typical Rolls-Royce from front, Cullinan is a large and high-bodied SUV; it is 5,341 mm long, 2,164 mm wide and had a wheelbase of 3,295 mm.
The high bonnet sports ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ statuette; rectangular LED headlights have large air intakes below them. The Cullinan also comes with Rolls-Royce's signature suicide doors. The massive 22-inch alloy wheels come as standard. The rear profile gets roof-mounted spoiler, vertically positioned LED taillamps and dual exhaust ports.
The interiors of the Cullinan are shared with the Phantom, complete with bespoke leather, wood and metal trims, all-digital instrument console, and the trademark analogue clock on the dash. Besides, for the first time, Cullinan has become the first Rolls Royce car to get a touchscreen infotainment system. The passengers in the backseat get 12-inch rear entertainment screens. The boot space is 560 litres, which can be increased to 1,930 if the backseats are folded.
The Cullinan is powered by a 6.75-litre, V12 petrol engine that produces 571 bhp of peak power and 850 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Cullinan is also the first 4WD from Rolls-Royce and can be customised to the taste of buyers, which will spike the cost by Rs 1 crore to the car's price tag. Deliveries will start by next year.
