Puthoor, Kollam: The Thiruvananthapuram regional unit of the Milma is set to launch a mobile application for the sale and purchase of milch cows. The app, named Milma Cow Bazaar, will soon be available on the Google PlayStore.

The app will give the cow's age, breed and other details along with the price. Photos too will be available on the app. Those interested can make the purchase direct from the owners.

Though the information can be viewed by all, not everyone can upload the details. Only primary dairy society secretaries have been entrusted with this task. This is to prevent wrong or fake information being uploaded that can cause the app to lose its credibility.

Regional union chairman Kallada Ramesh said that the objective was to help find good breed of cows and remove middlemen. The service will be initially available in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts. It will be eventually expanded to the rest of the state.
