Kiruba Shankar: mentor par excellence

Kiruba Shankar's career is built on second chances. The technology mentor helps entrepreneur start all over again. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of social media consultancy Business Blogging will be in Kochi on November 24 to host the Manoramaonline Geojit Techspectations.

Business Blogging is an attempt to tap the full potential of blogs, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms. The enterprise specialises in using social media as a marketing platform for businesses. Shankar also founded F5ive Technologies to harness the energies of web development.

"I started both my enterprises to introduce to the market the possibilities of social media and web development. If Business Blogging focuses on the social media space, F5ive Technologies is meant for the web development of the corporates and businesses in India," he said.

Shankar decided to start his own venture after 13 years of working with Sulekha.com. He has been a busy blogger from the start of the phenomenon. He has also written five books.

Shankar said that he had been immensely helped by his experience as a blogger spanning seven years when he started his own venture. About 95 per cent of his clients had associated with him during the blogging years.

Shankar also co-founded Proto.in. He is a faculty at the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai. He writes regularly for newspapers.

Shankar has been running workshops for people who want to come up in life. He puts forward a very demanding task from the participants – keep your laptops and mobile phones away while you attend the seminars. Focus on your dreams and they will come true, he said.

He said that Techspectations was one of the best in India. He said that he was happy to associate with the event for the second time.
