The registration for the Joint Entrance Examination-Main 2022 or JEE-Main, 2002, has begun. The national-level entrance exam would be held in two phases in April and May for admission to BTech, BE, BArch and B.Plan courses offered at premier technical institutes like the National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), other centrally funded technical institutes, a few deemed universities and engineering colleges in many states.

There is no minimum-mark restriction for the JEE–Main. However, in case more criteria are introduced during the time of the admission, then the candidates need to abide by them.

The admissions to various undergraduate and post-graduate programmes of premier institutes under the DASA scheme too would be done based on the JEE-Main score.

DASA denotes Direct Admission of Students Abroad. This scheme facilitates admission for Foreign Nationals/ Persons of Indian Origin/Non-Resident Indians.

Exam Pattern
Here are the papers, subjects, duration, question pattern, marks and mode of test for the JEE-Main:

Paper 1 for BE & BTech: Subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry; 3 hours; 75 out of 90 questions should be answered. Exam mode:computer-based.
For each subject 20 multiple choice questions and out of 10 numerical value-type questions 5 to be answered.
Equal weightage for each subject. Total 300 marks.

Paper 2A for BArch: Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing; 3 hours; 77 out of 82 questions should be answered. Exam mode:computer-based for Mathematics and Aptitude; Pen and paper for Drawing.

Mathematics: 20 multiple choice questions and out of 10 numerical value-type questions 5 to be answered.
Aptitude: Multiple choice, 50 questions; Total 200 marks.
Drawing: 2 questions for a total of 200 marks.

Paper 2B for BPlan: Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude and Planning; 3 hours; Exam mode:computer-based.
Mathematics: 20 multiple choice questions and out of 10 numerical value-type questions 5 to be answered: Total 100 marks.
Aptitude: Multiple choice, 50 questions; Total 200 marks.
Planning: Multiple choice, 25 questions; Total 100 marks.

Candidates who write BArch and BPlan together would get three-and-a-half hours. They have to appear for four subjects: Maths, Aptitude, Drawing and Planning.
