Thiruvananthapuram: The Save A Year (SAY) and improvement examinations for Higher Secondary students will be held from June 23 to 27, according to a notification published on the official Higher Secondary Education (HSE) portal. Students can remit the examination fee without a fine until June 27. With a late fine of ₹600, the fee can be paid up to June 29.
The SAY exam is intended for students who failed to secure the minimum D-Plus grade in one or more subjects. These students may appear for exams in all such subjects. Meanwhile, students who have qualified for higher education are eligible to appear for the improvement examination in only one subject.
Students wishing to apply for revaluation or scrutiny of marks in their answer scripts may do so through their respective examination centres. Application forms are available at model schools and on the HSE portal.
The revaluation fee is ₹500 per paper, while obtaining a photocopy of the answer sheet costs ₹300 per subject. The fee for mark scrutiny is ₹100 per subject. For Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, where double valuation was conducted, revaluation and scrutiny are not permitted. Students may, however, apply for a photocopy of their answer scripts in these subjects. According to the Education Minister V Sivankutty, the distribution of certificates will be completed by July.
