Kochi: North Paravoor of Ernakulam district was badly struck by the heavy rains and floods that have hit Kerala. About a hundred people inhabit the flood-relief camp functioning in Thelathuruthu, near Puthenvelikkara, North Paravoor. Amid the distress, the inhabitants of this flood-relief camp had a reason to cheer up and rejoice on Friday. Megastar Mammootty paid a surprise visit to the Puthenvelikkara flood-relief camp to console the inhabitants and extend a helping hand to the needy.
The star reached the Kerala auditorium in Thelathuruthu by 11 pm, accompanied by North Paravoor MLA VD Satheeshan and film producer Anto Joseph. During a brief interaction with the public, Mammootty advised the flood-victims to face the crisis collectively with courage. He also promised full support and help to the victims.
The inmates of Thelathuruthu flood-relief camp took selfies and photographs with their favorite star before he left.
"Do not worry. We and several others are with you. What you are going through now is only temporary. You will return to your homes in a day," the 66-year-old actor said.
Some in the camp clicked pictures of the actor and even posed for selæes with him.
