Prithvi's mom rescued from flooded house

Few parts of Kerala have been left untouched by the continuing unprecedented rains.

While social media is poured with photos of flood scenes from across the state, a photo of a celebrity has caught everyone's attention.

Going by the reports, Malayalam film actor Prithviraj's ancestral house in Thiruvananthapuram has been partially submerged in flood waters. A photo showing veteran actress and Prithviraj's mother Mallika Sukumaran has surfaced online and is doing the rounds on social media. The photo, which shows Mallika being rescued by a few persons, suggested the situation at their house due to water logging.

Reports also suggests that actor-comedian Dharmajan's house at Varapuzha has also been flooded.

Meanwhile, rise in flood waters in Periyar river due to continuous rains and opening of shutters of all major dams—including Mullaperiyar, Cheruthoni, and Idamalayar—have severely hit life of people in the downstream areas.
