Kochi: Megastar Mammootty's fans celebrate his birthday on Friday (Sept 7).
When a band of fans and well-wishers gathered in front of the actor's Kochi residence around Thursday midnight to wish their favourite actor, none of them expected to get even a glimpse of the busy star. They distributed sweets, burst crackers and recited evergreen songs from Mammootty movies as part of their celebrations.
A few minutes after midnight, when the gathering was about to disperse, the legend's car turned up at the main gate of his house. Mammootty greeted his fans with a quick smile and rushed inside his home. When the fans cheered at the surprise sight of their superstar, Mammootty came out to the verandah, this time with a mind-blowing surprise to his fans.
With a homely smile, the actor offered a share of his birthday cake to his beloved fans. “You want the cake?” Mammootty asked aloud. As he couldn't get any reply from the stunned crowd, the star himself distributed it among the star-struck admirers.
Some of his fans took a video of this and posted it on social media praising his humility. The video posted on 'Mammookka', Mammootty's most popular fan page on Facebook, has become viral.
