Actor and politician Suresh Gopi was at a loss of words talking about veteran artiste Captain Raju who passed away in Kochi on Monday.

“I have been constantly calling and keeping in touch with him to know about his condition ever since he had been under treatment. Today, when I got the call informing about his demise, it's hard for me to realise that he passed away,” Suresh said.

“Each death brings us grief for that is when we realise the importance of such people in our lives. Captain Raju and I began our career almost during the same time. We differed on various matters but we made sure that the differences stood outside our personal relationship. He used to make food and rang me up asking me to join him. Both of us used to meet quite frequently and talked a lot,” he added.

Further, Suresh revealed, “Captain Raju was such a simple man that he never made others feel bad on any issue. He didn't know how to fake around. Many tormented him due to this nature. But he happily greeted everyone, despite knowing the fact (some had malice)."
