Mimicry artiste impresses with Chinta's ‘Jimikki Kammal' speech

A young mimicry artiste wowed the audience with her incredible performance at the Mimicry Mahamela aired on Mazhavil Manorama.

Rinu, a resident of Kundara in Kollam, won applauds by imitating the sound of 20 prominent women in the cinema and political fields. She had especially imitated with perfection the sound of Chinta Jerome, the chairperson of the Kerala Youth Commission. She had mimicked Chinta’s ‘Jimikki Kammal’ speech which had become viral on the social media.

Actor Suraj Venjaranmoodu, the chief guest of the show, was thrilled to watch Rinu’s performance and expressed his happiness by giving her a flying kiss. Suraj said that it was for the first time that he had heard someone imitate Chinta with such perfection.

Rinu also imitated the voices of actresses like Bhavana, child actor Meenakshi, Amala Paul, Parvathy Thruvoth, Surabhi, bindu Panicker, Navya Nair, Mamta Mohandas, Philomina and Arya who was also anchor of the show. Arya noted she was amazed to see someone imitate her voice.

Rinu is the first woman participant to take part in the Mimicry Mahamela which is garnering positive reviews from the TV audience. A BSc student at the Devaswom Board College, Sasthamkotta, Rinu has won first prize for mimicry at the University Youth Festival.

The song 'Jimikki Kammal' was mocked by young leftist leader Chinta during her speech at an event organised by the Orthodox Christian Youth Movement. Her comments had invited angry reactions from netizens who blamed her for making stupid statements after taking the lyrics seriously.
