Friend recalls enduring tie with Balabhaskar

Keralites were shocked to hear the news about the accident which claimed the life of Tejaswini, the two-year-old daughter of noted violinist Balabhaskar. His friends and fans are now praying for his speedy recovery and hope the family gains the strength to overcome this loss.

RJ Kidilam Firoz who shares a special friendship with Balabhaskar from the college days itself said that the violinist is like his elder brother. In an emotional Facebook post, Firoz recalled with pain, Balabhaskar’s loving words about his daughter. Firoz also wrote that he had been a witness to Balabhasker’s courtship days with his wife Lakshmi.

The toddler was born to the couple after undergoing treatment for 16 years.

“He was the one who encouraged me the most when I became a radio jockey. Now he is lying unconscious in an operating room without knowing that his beloved daughter whom he got after waiting for 18 years had gone forever,” Firoz wrote.

He added that Lakshmi is out of danger now. However the musician is still under observation as he has suffered severe injuries to the spinal cord. His blood pressure has been fluctuating and has many broken bones as well.

Firoz further wrote, “I pray that Balu (Balabhaskar) gets well soon. He had called me up during the time of the floods offering to play violin at the relief camps to encourage the people there. When I asked him about his daughter, he told that she was lying on his bosom and playing. The baby left this world leaving all of us devastated. I pray that both of them find the strength to bear the pain of losing their darling daughter.”

Balabhaskar and his family met with an accident when his car rammed a tree at the wee hours on Tuesday. Tejaswini died in the accident which occurred at Pallipuram in Thiruvananthapuram.
