After the release of the critically acclaimed ‘Mahanati’, a Telugu-Tamil bilingual that went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year, Keerthi Suresh has emerged into the league of top actresses in Tollywood.
She portrayed Savithri, the legendary actress, in the film and delivered a performance par excellence.
Keerthi made her debut in Telugu with ‘Nenu Sailaja’ opposite Ram Pothineni in 2016.
Though she had proved her mettle in Tamil and Malayalam films, her role in ‘Nenu Sailaja’ brought her critical acclaim as well as stardom in Tollywood.
And in 2017, she acted in another Telugu film ‘Nenu Local’ opposite Nani. Nenu Local, which became a runaway hit, is also considered the biggest hit of Nani.
Keerthi donned different roles with elan in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, enabling her to skip the stereotype tag, unlike many emerging heroines. She is the daughter of Malayalam film producer Suresh Kumar and actor Menaka Suresh.
Keerthi, who was seen in a ‘mass’ character in her film Saamy, will now be seen in Telugu-Tamil bilingual movie ‘Pandem Kodi 2’.
According to insiders, Keerthi has put up a stellar performance in 'Pandem Kodi 2'.
“As an actress, one should do all sorts of roles. I have not just ‘class’ elements in me, I have a ‘mass’ touch as well. That you are going to see in this film. Only when we get various roles with different personal traits, we can showcase our talent. Otherwise we will be limited to certain roles,” she said about her character in the movie
“I also don’t want to be stereotyped. I want to act as a naughty, happy-go-lucky girl and I’m getting such roles. Whatever role I do, I just don’t want to lose the recognition I got as an actress,” Keerthi said.
‘Pandem Kodi 2’ starring Vishal is slated to be released on October 18.
