Thiruvananthapuram: Hundreds of people turned up at noted violinist Balabhaskar’s residence here to pay their last respects to the musical genius. Countless fans and friends thronged his home ‘Hiranmaya’ at LIC lane, in the capital city, to see their favourite musician for the last time; however, they were at a loss how to console the couple's parents.

Shantakumari collapsed unable to watch the lifeless body of her beloved son. Relatives then took both the women inside. CK Unni, Balabhaskar’s father, and Lakshmi's father Sundaresan Nair too were overwhelmed with grief.
