It was just recently that director Leena Manimekalai talked about her MeToo experience against director Susi Ganesan. She had accused the director of sexually harassing her in 2005.

Now, South Indian actress Amala Paul has come out in support for Leena, recalling her own experience of working with Ganesan in the 2017 film 'Thiruttu Payale 2'.

Taking to Twitter, Amala put out a statement and termed Susi Ganesan as 'a man who has a twisted set of moral values and utterly low respect for women'.

“Me despite being the leading actor for the film was subjected to double-meaning talks, misrepresented offers, and unchivalrous bodily contacts. This pretty much made my experience of shooting 'Thiruttu Payale 2' as a mentally fatiguing experience," (sic.) said Amala.

Applauding Leena for her courage to narrate the experience, Amala further said that with expanding female workforce, such incidents were becoming more and more common in all industries.

“These men treat their housewives and daughters different, but when it comes to their colleagues they don't miss a chance to show an upper hand and take advantage,” she said.

Before concluding her statement, Amala wanted the government to come up with a system to address the harrowing #MeToo incidents.
