Punjabi pinup Payal Rajput, who made her Telugu debut with ‘RX 100 – A True Love Story’ directed by Ajay Bhupathi, has already struck a chord with Telugu movie buffs.
The sultry siren is now busy shooting for an untitled Tollywood film and a Tamil movie. Known to be choosy when it comes to characters, Payal is a well-known name in Punjabi filmdom.
According to our sources, the sizzling beauty will appear in a cameo role in NTR biopic ‘Kathanayakudu’, slated to release on January 9.
Though there are several other heroines who are also part of the biopic of legendary actor and politician N T Rama Rao, fondly known as NTR, Payal is likely to steal the attention in the movie.
The reason? She is going to enact the role of none other than most-sought after yesteryear heroine Jayasudha.
The NTR-Jayasudha combination was a huge success during his Tollywood days.
Some of his most loved films had Jayasudha paired with NTR.
Even in the last work in his film career – Naa Desam – before he embarked on politics, Jayasudha was his heroine.
During a chat with the media recently, Mumbai-born Payal revealed that she had to undergo a casting couch experience from a Telugu producer, who asked her to ‘compromise’ after offering her a role.
The sensible actress, who proved her acting prowess in her Telugu debut, outrightly rejected the proposal.

RX 100 had reportedly earned about Rs 21 crore at the box office and received much critical acclaim for its brilliance.
'NTR: Kathanayakudu' will also have Vidya Balan playing NTR’s first wife Basavatarakam and Aamani as his second wife named Lakshmi Parvathi.
Nithya Menen, Prakash Raj, Manjima Mohan will also star in the flick, being directed by Krish.
The film is being jointly produced by Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Vardhan Induri.
It would pan the phenomenal rise of NTR as a mass hero and his political foray.
Balakrishna will don the role of his father in reel life.
NTR had shocked the political spectrum by coming to power within nine months after launching the Telugu Desam Party, in a jolt to the monopolistic reign of Congress in Andhra Pradesh.
