Pongal flick 'Petta' to be racy, trailer hints so

The trailer of the much-awaited Karthik Subbaraj movie 'Petta' is out and contains all elements of a drama – action, romance, love and drama. After watching the trailer, one is left with no other choice than 'Getting Rajinified'.

The best thing about the trailer is that the focus is not just on the superstar rather other casts like Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddique and Simran. Rajinikanth is rumoured to be playing a professor with a violent past.

The over two-minute trailer starts slowly and gains momentum along with some racy sequences with Anirudh's pumping musical in background.

Yet another interesting factor is the close similarity of 'Petta' with Rajini's earlier outing 'Baasha'. It was in January 15, 1995 that Rajini gave the blockbuster movie 'Baasha'. Undoubtedly, Rajini's looks and style in 'Petta' will remind one of his style from 'Baasha', especially his style of keeping the shades.

With yellow, orange and red colour tone, director Karthik Subbaraj's signature style is also evident in the movie produced by Sun Pictures.

Kunal Ranjan's sound design and Vivek Harshan's editing skills seems to have been an advantage in the trailer.
