A bunch of talented artists were unearthed on Mazhavil Manorama's grand reality show 'Nayika Nayakan'. It was a hunt to find a potential hero and heroine for director Lal Jose's flick. While Darshana and Shambu won the coveted title, it was yet another pair who were applauded by the netizens for their entertaining conduct.
Addis and Vincy became most popular for their performances in the 'Premam' round of the show in which they played two military officials in love and their fan base just doubled.
In an exclusive New Year special chat show, Addis and Vincy get candid about their on-screen chemistry and life after the show.
The 'lottery' show
For Addis and Vincy, the show was indeed a life-changer. “After we finished the show, people started recognising us. Many even came and asked how we got this fame. And I would say, it was like winning a lottery,” said Addis.
Vincy's one performance during the grand finale had taken internet by storm where she was asked to cook chicken curry. “That was the last task we got at the show. Just before we were to shoot, we were told to learn the recipe of chicken curry and we would be given a task based on it. So while the show went air, we were asked to provide the recipe briefing in a particular emotion. That's when the idea of briefing in a lustful manner struck to me. But never thought that the video will go viral like this,” she recalled.
Life after show
Life is indeed a busy one after the show, admitted both Vincy and Addis. “We went to many colleges, did many inaugurations and so on,” said Addis.
“Except a few, all other participants got a chance to work with Lal Jose in his latest movie 'Thattumpurath Achuthan'. It was indeed a delight to watch them on screen,” said Vincy.
Addis and Vincy will be seen alongside Darshana and Shambhu in Lal Jose's next. Vincy further revealed that she was lucky to have bagged a few other good projects but remained tight lipped about the films and other details.
To the most-asked question if Addis and Vincy share the same romance off screen, the duo said, "When we performed together for the first time, we realised that our chemistry could work only on screen and a thing like marriage or romance can't go beyond that."
New Year wows
It was indeed a life-changing year for Addis and Vincy but that does not deter them to take the New Year resolution. When asked about the list, Vincy said, “Only one resolution is about controlling diet and weighing low.” “Three on my list: weigh down, grow beard and to improve Malayalam language,” Addis shared.
