Director V K Prakash's 2015 movie Nirnayakam won the National award for best film on social issue. The film had its focus on issues related to rallies and large processions and how it affected the life of the common man.
More than the desire for awards, V K Prakash better known as VKP told Onmanorama that a film like Nirnayakam was made to satisfy his passion for filmmaking and thereby present a relevant issue prevailing in the society.
"It was the climax scene that was really challenging for me and I was tensed about it."

The climax involved a heartbreaking court scene, where in a grandfather as a petitioner speaks to the judge about the demise of his granddaughter and his defence for a case related to her death.
Talking about shooting the climax scene, VKP said, "The dialogue was about four to five pages long, and I had worries whether it would end up being monotonous or a dragging scene. However, to my luck, I got Mollywood's extremely talented actor Nedumudi Venu to perform it."

"When I told Venu Sir about him that I wished not to break shots, he said 'Prakash don't break the shot'. The confidence he gave me was immense," he added.
According to VKP, the climax of the movie managed to create a good impact and all the credit for the same goes to Nedumudi Venu.

"When we started shooting, I was capturing his sequences rather than merely shooting. That was the speciality of a fabulous artist called Nedumudi Venu. Sometimes a talented actor, a cinematographer or an editor can change the shot division of a director and give him confidence," said VKP.
Before concluding, he stated, "I consider filmmaking as a learning process and for me that was an inspiring moment in my career."

The movie also starring Asif Ali, Malavika Mohanan and Tisca Chopra won the Kerala state awards for character actor and make up artist for Prem Prakash and Rajesh Nermara respectively.
