Yet another Oscars is over and before you wind up the award function, here's a video that you must watch!
On Sunday night's biggest Hollywood event, director Spike Lee was recognised by the Oscars with a win for Best Adapted Screenplay for 'BlacKkKlansman'.
And it was veteran actor and producer Samuel L. Jackson who announced it. While presenting Best Adapted Screenplay, Jackson decided to give the audience a spoiler, first making sure Lee was sitting down.
As Lee's name was announced, he stormed the stage, leapt into Jackson’s arms and said, “Four hundred years. Our ancestors were stolen from mother Africa then brought to Jamestown, Virginia and enslaved.”
He then talked about the money his grandmother put away to put her first grandson, “Spikey-poo,” through college and eventually film school, and implored everyone watching to 'do the right thing'.
Jackson presented the screenplay awards at this year’s Oscars along with actress and filmmaker Brie Larson.
The film starring John David Washington is based on Stallworth’s memoir about a black police detective who infiltrates the Ku Klux Klan. Lee shared the award with co-writers Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz and Kevin Wilmott.
