A case has been registered against Malayalam film director Rosshan Andrrews for breaking into producer Alwin Antony's house. Meanwhile, police have also filed another case against Alwin and his friend for attacking the director.
The allegations
The alleged incidents happened after Rosshan reached noted producer Alwin's house along with some men. Alwin claimed that he came to attack his family. “Rosshan had come with the goons to attack my son. I had kept my son away from the house as I was sure he would be attacked. My son’s friend, a doctor, is admitted at the hospital with serious injury to his ears. Rosshan seemed like he was out of his mind. I am not sure whether he was in an inebriated state. But he had a strange expression on his face. Though he talked peacefully in the beginning, his expression began to change. Then he shifted his conversation to the doctor who was at our house. Rosshan asked the doctor to tell him where my son was. When the doctor refused to tell him that, Rosshan asked him to go with them. Rosshan then turned to the people who looked like goons and told them to ‘take’ the doctor. Those people then assaulted the doctor,” claimed Alwin.
Alwin claimed that when he and his wife tried to save the doctor, they were pushed down by the goons. He added that the attackers didn’t even spare their younger daughter who is a school-going kid. The producer said that the group was mellowed down only after the family saved the doctor and shifted him into a room.
Likely reason
It is said that Alwin's son was close to Rosshan's (woman) assistant director and the reason for the tiff is this association. “My son had worked as an assistant in two of his films. They used to be good friends. The current issue began when my son became friends with the woman who is Rosshan’s associate. Should he barge into my house with goons at midnight, just because my son talked to that girl?” Asked Alwin.
Producer Alwin Antony also rubbished the allegations that his son was a drug addict and that he had spread false news about Rosshan. He revealed that the row with the filmmaker began when his son developed a friendship with the woman.
Settling the matter
While the producer claimed that he had talked to the filmmaker about the issue over the phone and he himself had intervened to settle it, Roshan alleged it was Alwin and his friend who tried to attack him.
“Four days ago, Rosshan had come home to talk about this issue and we had solved it then. A noted filmmaker like Rosshan shouldn’t have behaved like this. It is wrong to create a nasty scene at the house of a senior producer like me. Rosshan alleged that my son is a drug addict. Those are blatant lies. You could enquire about him in the industry. He has worked with many directors,” Alwin made his stand clear.
Meanwhile director Rosshan Andrrews said that producer Alwin’s son Alwyn John Antony had assisted him in the movies 'Mumbai Police' and 'How Old Are You'. He claimed that the producer’s son was a drug addict and that he had even warned the latter once. However, Rosshan fired him when he continued to do drugs despite his warnings. Rosshan alleged that a vengeful Alwyn had spread lies about him and that he had gone to the producer’s house along with his friend Navas to ask about it. Rosshan’s version is that he and his friend Navas were assaulted by the producer and his son. He claimed that his friend Navas was kicked hard on his stomach.
It was on Saturday night that the alleged incident took place at Alwin’s house.
