Acclaimed director and producer Karan Johar introduced Alia Bhatt to Bollywood in 2012 through 'Student of the Year'. From playing the spirited teenager 'Shanaya Singhania' in 'Student of the Year' to nailing hard roles like Sehmat Khan in Raazi and Bauria a.k.a. Mary Jane in Udta Punjab, Alia has made a name for herself.

Alia has also bagged top honours and is an undoubted lead choice of Bollywood.

Recently Alia received the Best Actor award at a popular award show where she thanked Karan for gifting her the very first role.

Also in a recent chat show, Alia threw a question to Karan via video. She asked Karan: 'Now that you have Yash and Roohi (surrogate kids) in the family, have you forgotten that I'm your daughter'?. The reply came fast and a caring Karan said that he can never forget Alia and that she is his 'first child'.

Recently Karan's wax statue was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Singapore. Karan at the museum also took time to take a photo alongside actor Varun Dhawan's statue .

Varun and Siddharth Malhotra were too given the break by Karan through 'Student of the Year'.

Alia will soon be seen in 'Brahmastra' starring Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. It is produced by Karan and directed by Ayan Mukherji. It's the first film in a planned trilogy.
