Mohanlal leaves behind Ajith, Rajini and Vijay!

Going by the collection numbers, it seems that popular actor Mohanlal is all set to overtake Ajith, Rajinikanth and Vijay, the box-office leaders in south India. BO reports from the Kerala circle also suggest that Mohanlal's 'Lucifer' has already broken the recent revenue records of movies starring these Tamil actors in the territory.

Mohanla's latest film 'Lucifer' is running to packed houses in all major theatres. Its producer - Aashirvad Cinemas - on Monday officially announced that 'Lucifer' has entered the Rs 100-crore club in just 8 days of its release. The film is apparently doing well in various international markets, apart from markets that traditionally favoured Malayalam cinema.

Well with this achievement, 'Lucifer' has turned out to be the first Malayalam movie to achieve the coveted BO mark in such a short span. Earlier, Mohanlal's 'Pulimurugan' had entered the Rs 100-crore club after one month of its release.

Rajinikanth's 'Kaala' and 'Petta', Vijay's 'Mersal' and 'Sarkar and Ajith's 'Vivegam are the other movies in the top list.

Directed by Prithviraj, 'Lucifer' stars Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Indrajith, Vivek Oberoi in lead roles. Written by Murali Gopy, the film is a political thriller.

Now, as movies like Mammootty-starrer 'Madhura Raja' and Fahadh-starrer 'Athiran' are  gearing up for release to coincide with Vishu and Easter, trade analysts are looking forward to see how 'Lucifer' fares further in the race.
