Bengaluru: Acclaimed playback singer S Janaki who was in Mysuru to visit her relatives was admitted to hospital for a hip surgery.
The 81-year-old singer had to undergo surgery at a private hospital at Mysuru after she fractured her hip after slipping and falling three days ago, reports said.
According to reports the injury is not serious.
The singer is said to be doing well and will be back to normal health in some weeks.
S Janaki, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, has a number of songs to her credit. She made her debut in 1956 and was one of the top singers in the south Indian film industry for over six decades.
