Mimi-Nusrat show at Parliament wows RGV, draws trolls too

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a disappointed man today. Even after coming back to power with a landslide victory for his party, NaMo is not able to understand why two pretty looking faces from West Bengal are hogging all the attention on social media. It is not 'Modi Magic' the netizens are discussing now but Trinamool Congress's actors-turned-politicians Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan.

Mimi and Nusrat contested the Lok Sabha elections and won with huge margins. Mimi got a margin of 2,95,239 from Basirhat while Nusrat defeated her rival by 3,50,369 votes in Jadavpur. TMC had won both the seats by a margin of around 1,30,000 in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

But their majority was not the discussion on the Net. It was about a Tik Tok video shared by Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma. It seems Ram Gopal Varma was not really impressed with the duo's big win. In an apparently sarcastic note, RGV wrote while sharing the video, "Wow Wow Wow!!! New MPs from Bengal. Mimi Chakraborty & Nusrat Jahaan_India is really really progressing ..it's a welcome relief to see MP's who are so easy on the eye ".

Earlier, RGV had campaigned for actress Urmila Matondkar in Mumbai, saying she is his biggest crush.

It is not RGV who noticed the glamorous duo. In fact, Mimi and Nusrat flooded the social media with pictures of them posing in front of the Parliament House on their maiden visit to the building. They were so excited that they took snaps of themselves holding their identity cards also. What triggered the talk was their dressing style.

Nusrat and Mimi

Netizens were quick to troll Mimi and Nusrat for their appearance saying it’s not a film shoot and that they have to get serious about their work. Some even said Parliament is not a place for pornstars. However, for those who haven't seen the pictures, the film stars were wearing trousers, peplum top (Nusrat) and casual white shirt with denims (Mimi).

Rumours have it that the attention the duo drew after the pictures went viral was much more than Modi's huge victory or BJP's plans to topple the governments in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
