It was a moment of surprise and excitement when actor-turned-director Ramesh Pisharody shook hands with Mohanlal just before the launch of his next with Mammootty. Mohanlal wished Pisharody good luck and left before the later lightened the light for his upcoming movie 'Ganagandharvan' on Saturday at Kochi.
Ramesh Pisharody's new film with Mammootty in the lead was announced last year and it's after a while that the team began the shoot. The female lead will be played by newcomer Vanditha.
While the screenplay is jointly penned by Pisharody and Hari P Nair, the cinematography is helmed by Alagappan and editing by Lijo Paul. The music deparment is headed by Deepak Dev.
Ramesh Pisharody made his debut as a director with the Malayalam film Panchavarnathatha starring Jayaram in the lead.
Meanwhile, Mammootty is awaiting the release of Unda which will hit screens on Thursday. Mammootty recently wrapped up the big budget movie Maamaankam directed by filmmaker Padma Kumar.
