Why Kozhikode is special for Dileep, actor creates buzz in city | Video

Ahead of its release on July 6, the Dileep-starrer Shubharathri was officially launched at an event in Kozhikode on Wednesday.

Lead actors Dileep, Anu Sithara, Siddique, Nadirshah, Prashanth Alex, Sheelu Abraham attended the event with a huge crowd at Hi Lite Mall.

Talking about the movie, actor Siddique said the film will see Dileep in a different role.

Although Shubharathri is a family oriented film, it will also appeal to fans as well, said the actor.

Addressing the crowd, Dileep stated that coming to Kozhikode for a movie launch was indeed a special affair for him. “It was in Kozhikode that I first appeared in front of the camera for the film Ennodu Ishtam Koodamo. Each time I come here, I feel nostalgic for this place. Just like the title of the movie Ennodu Ishtam Koodamo, I would like to ask each of you here do you love me,” he asked and the crowd cheered with applauds.

The 1992 film directed by Kamal had Mukesh in the lead while it marked the debut of Dileep, who played a small role. Dileep and Lal Jose served as assistant directors to Kamal.

When a fan asked Dileep for a selfie, he reminded them that after the event he would meet each of them and would take pictures. And keeping his word, Dileep personally took selfies with many of them before leaving.

Directed by Vyasan KP, Shubharathri will be the popular actor's second release in 2019 after Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel.
