Mammootty pays tribute to Linu who drowned during flood rescue

A youth died while carrying out rescue operations in flood-hit areas and public are paying tributes online too.

Linu, a 34-year-old resident of Cheruvannoor in Kozhikode, was rescuing stranded people after taking his parents to a relief camp when he drowned in the floodwaters.

The social media is now flooded with tributes to the youth. Politicians as well as other noted personalities too joined. 

Actor Mammootty shared his photo on social media page and paid tributes to the unsung hero.

Linu leaves behind father Subramanyam, mother Latha and two brothers.

Earlier, Mammootty took no time to appreciate street vendor PM Noushad who offered his entire stock of clothes for flood relief. Mammootty and Jayasurya, another leading Malayalam actor, reportedly personally rang him up and applauded his gesture. Actor and producer Thampi Kannanthanam had gifted him Rs 50,000 saying that he was touched by Noushad’s selfless act.
