Innocent gives away his one-year pension for flood relief works

While many are contributing towards Keral floods relief works, actor and MP Innocent has donated Rs 3 lakhs from his one year pension.

He donated the amount to Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund on Tuesday evening giving away the cheque to Thrissur collector Shanavas.

“Several fake reports regarding to donations to CM's relief fun is doing rounds but we must understand that it's the responsibility of every Keralite to donate their bit to the CM's relief fund,” he said.

Last year too, in the wake of 2018 floods, Innocent had donated Rs 3 lakh.

Earlier, when many social media posts came out discouraging people from contributing to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund, Kerala Minister Thomas Isaac cleared the rumours stating that the CM’s relief fund gets money from the state budget and from the contributions made by people.

The relief fund had Rs 4,106 crore up to July 20, 2019 from the people’s contribution that helped a lot during the floods last year.
