Mamangam teaser is spectacular with the story of warriors

The official teaser of Mammootty's much awaited Mamangam has landed online. The video opens in 1695AD where we are told about Mamanga Mahamagam. In the meantime, we are shown a festival and where people are coming. We get to see Unni Mukundan, the warrior, along with him is a 12-year old, who changed history.

The little boy then briefs about his great uncle and there enters our hero Mammootty.

Directed by M Padmakumar, the screenplay is by Shankar Ramakrishnan. M Jayachandran has composed the music, while the cinematography is handled by Manoj Pillai.

The film is based on a festival that was celebrated during the 17th century.

Produced by Venu Kunnappilly, Mamangam had earlier courted controversy with writer and director Sajeev Pillai, who was later replaced from the project.

Slated to release by 2019 end, the film is being made in Malayalam and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages.
