Malayalam megastar Mammootty tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday. The actor was at the shooting location of his upcoming movie tentatively titled 'CBI-5', when he came to know about the infection.
The actor had complained of slight cold and throat pain on Saturday night. He was found Covid positive in the test conducted on Sunday morning.
Mammootty took to social media to announce the news and he urged all to take precautions.
“Despite taking all the necessary precautions I have tested Covid Positive yesterday. Besides a light fever I am otherwise fine. I am self isolating at home as per the directions of the concerned authorities. I wish for all of you to stay safe. Mask at all times and take the utmost care,” he wrote.
Doctors, after a check-up, confirmed that Mammootty's health condition was stable. However, the shooting of the movie has been stalled for two weeks following the development.
The franchise of the iconic movie 'Oru CBI Diary Kurippu' scripted by S N Swamy and directed by K Madhu has already completed 60 days of shooting.
