Debutant director Pious Raj has long since been toying with a story loosely based on the classic, 'Crime and Punishment' authored by Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky.
When he finally got everything ready to make the film it was the second wave of the Pandemic. However, the lockdown proved to be in his favour as he could shoot the film conveniently in Kovalam,000e main location of the film.
"The lockdown situation turned out to be apt for the movie shoot as our subject didn't need too many crowded scenes," says Pious Raj.
Now that the theatres are back again to shut-down mode as part of the lockdown curbs, Siddy too is following the OTT release formula.
The 'Popcron Crime Thriller', the director says, doesn't follow the conventional noir pattern, instead, “a treatment that tracks the protagonist and his actions in a fast-paced manner has been adopted” says Pious Raj.
Produced by Maheswaran Nandagopal, the film is headlined by Aji John and has I M Vijayan, Rajesh Sharma and Akshaya Udayakumar playing prominent roles.
Ramesh Narayanan has composed the music and the songs penned by Vinayak Sasikumar are crooned by Madhushree Narayan and Sooraj Santhosh
While the DOP is Karthik Nair, editing has been done by Ajith Unnikrishnan. Costumes and make-up departments are taken care of Bhakthan Mangadu and Sudhi Surendran respectively. The sound design is by Radhakrishnan S and the PRO is A S Dinesh
