Veena Nair confirms separation from husband RJ Aman after two-year silence

Film and TV actor Veena Nair has confirmed that she and her husband RJ Aman are separated, though they are not legally divorced. Veena opened up about her personal life in an interview with Online Malayali Entertainments. 

“My son is happy and doesn’t miss us as we both are there for him. He often goes out with Kannan (Aman) and enjoys his father's love. Everything in life comes to an end at some point or the other. There are problems but that is between Kannan and myself. I will be closing this chapter\ soon and will let you know when and how,” said Veena, who admitted she felt uncomfortable whenever people asked her about her personal life.  

Meanwhile, Veena dismissed rumours that her marriage hit the rocks after she participated in the Malayalam TV reality show Big Boss. “A TV programme cannot break a family. It is the result of various factors. I have noticed comments regarding my personal life with many suggesting that my family life was destroyed due to Bigg Boss. They say the same about Manju Pathrose. Let me tell you, these rumours are not true," she said.

Veena addressed the body shaming remarks she has been facing since childhood. "Earlier, people used to pass snide remarks in jest, but now I keep reading nasty comments about my body on social media. I have been like this since childhood. I am healthy," she said, though she admitted she lost 20 kilos in the last two years. The actor said she chose to ignore the comments.

“People can criticise my work or my performances. They have the right to express their opinions. They can criticise us openly but should ensure the comments are decently put. I had to file a police complaint against a person who made vulgar comments about me. But, such things happen on a regular basis. I read vulgar comments even if I wear a saree,” Veena said.

Veena Nair entered the entertainment industry through television serials and earned fame for her excellent comic timing. She was noticed in movies after her work in the blockbuster movie 'Vellimoonga'. Meanwhile, Veena also participated in the second season of the popular reality show Big Boss. Veena was last seen in the Mammootty-starrer 'Dominic and Ladies’ Purse.'
