Actress Parvathy Thiruvothu has always been known for her candidness, and recently, she shared her thoughts on relationships, friendships, and being single. While she has been in love in the past, Parvathy revealed that she is currently enjoying her single status. She also mentioned that she maintains friendships with most of her ex-boyfriends, offering a glimpse into her mature approach to past relationships.
“I have been in love. But I’ve been single for quite some time now,” she confessed. “I keep friendships with most of my ex-boyfriends. I still talk to many of them. It’s not that we have very close relationships, but occasionally, there’s nothing wrong in calling and asking how they’re doing because at some point, we were in love with each other. We wanted to live together. I wish them happiness because I am happy.”
Parvathy emphasized the importance of wishing happiness for others, even if they are no longer a part of her life in a romantic sense. However, she also opened up about the loneliness that can come with being single at times. “Sometimes, I feel lonely. There are days when I wish to be held. There are days when we go through without human touch, which is unfair.”
Speaking about her experiences with dating, Parvathy revealed that she has been in relationships with technicians from the film industry but has never dated actors or directors. “It wasn’t something that was planned,” she said. She highlighted the importance of being with someone who understands the nature of her work in the film industry, noting, “It is very important to be with someone who understands cinema. They understand our work.”
While Parvathy enjoys the idea of love, she has been single for the past few years, specifically for around three and a half years. This period of being single has allowed her to reflect on her personal preferences when it comes to relationships.
About four months ago, Parvathy’s friends introduced her to the world of dating apps. However, her initial experience with these platforms wasn’t quite as she expected. “I found the idea of 'shopping' for people to be quite strange,” she confessed. Parvathy shared that she created a Tinder profile while in France with a friend by her side. Her friend joked that no one would recognize her, which led to an amusing moment for Parvathy. Despite seeing many faces, she quickly abandoned Tinder.
Parvathy also explored other dating apps like Bumble and Raya. “I have profiles on dating apps, and sometimes I check them out,” she admitted. However, she quickly found herself suspending accounts. “Reading some people’s bios can give you an entire story. But I don’t judge them. Sometimes, I also post a bio like that. This is the reality now.”
Despite her brief flirtation with the online dating world, Parvathy made it clear that she prefers meeting people the old-fashioned way. “I’d prefer to find someone the old way—meet them in person, talk through our eyes, feel the excitement when we meet. That’s what I like,” she said.
