On his birthday, veteran actor Mohanlal unveiled the first look of his upcoming film ‘Vrusshabha’, directed by Nanda Kishore. While the star's recent films ‘Thudarum’ and ‘Empuraan’ have been major box office successes, his new project has received a more divided response from fans.
Mohanlal shared the first look on social media with a caption:"This one is special — dedicating it to all my fans. The wait ends. The storm awakens. With pride and power, I unveil the first look of ‘Vrusshabha’ – a tale that will ignite your soul and echo through time.
Unveiling this on my birthday makes it all the more meaningful — your love has always been my greatest strength."
While many fans expressed excitement, others were more sceptical. Some questioned the tone and style of the new project, especially in contrast to the grounded and appreciated performances in his recent hits.
One user commented, "No need for such exaggerated acting, chetta… It's enough if you just stay on track like you are now." Another wrote, "It doesn't feel like it's of good quality."
A few even appeared disappointed, posting comments like "Anna… this wasn't necessary," and "Was this really necessary right now?"
These reactions seem to reflect lingering concerns from Mohanlal’s less successful films prior to ‘Empuraan’ and ‘Thudarum’, which were criticized for lacking substance and failing to connect with audiences.
As ‘Vrusshabha’ gears up for release, all eyes will be on whether this film can recapture the magic of Mohanlal's recent resurgence or fall into the pitfalls of past missteps.
