Suraj Venjaramoodu-Sharafudheen starrer 'Padakkalam' locks its OTT release date

'Padakkalam', a fantasy comedy starring Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharafudheen, and Sandeep Pradeep, is set to stream soon on JioHotstar. Directed by debutant Manu Swaraj, the film follows a group of college students who are die-hard fans of superheroes like Green Lantern and Batman. Their otherwise routine campus life is turned upside down by the arrival of a ‘cool’ professor, Ranjith (played by Sharafudheen), whose unconventional methods shake things up.

The film, which hit theatres on May 9 to generally positive reviews, will begin streaming on the platform from June 10, as announced on Monday.

While many of the scenarios in Padakkalam may seem bizarre at first glance, Manu Swaraj cleverly weaves them into a humorous and engaging narrative. His debut embraces absurdity, using it to drive laughs and keep the story lively.

Joining the lead trio is a vibrant ensemble cast featuring Saaf, Arun Pradeep, Arun Ajikumar, Niranjana Anoop, Pooja Mohanraj, and Ishan Shoukath, all contributing to the film’s quirky, energetic world.
