'King', touted as one of the most anticipated films of 2026, has hit an unexpected hurdle. Shah Rukh Khan, who plays the lead, sustained an injury while filming high-octane action sequences in Mumbai earlier this month.
The shoot had been underway at the Golden Tobacco studio when the actor reportedly hurt himself during an intense stunt. While details remain closely guarded, those familiar with the development say he has been advised to take a break of about a month to recover.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Shah Rukh and his team have since travelled to the United States for medical attention. The portal noted that the situation is not considered serious and is understood to be a muscular injury. It added that years of performing demanding stunts have left the actor prone to such setbacks.

Despite this pause in filming, 'King' continues to generate excitement thanks to its stellar cast—Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Saurabh Shukla, and Suhana Khan are all part of the ensemble.
An official release date is yet to be announced, but industry buzz suggests the makers are eyeing a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release.
