I’ll walk away from acting only if convinced I’m not cut out for it: Madhav Suresh

Actor Madhav Suresh, son of veteran star Suresh Gopi, has responded to the wave of social media trolls targeting his performance in 'Kummattikali'. The young actor has been at the receiving end of comments suggesting that he cannot act and should quit films altogether.
Speaking to a YouTube channel, Madhav said that if, after giving it his best, he ever realises he truly cannot act, he will step away on his own. Until then, he intends to continue and believes audiences will keep seeing him on screen.
Much of the trolling has centred around a dialogue from the film. 'Enthinada konnittu… nammal anaatharanu… gundakal alla' (Why do you have to kill him… we’re orphans, not goons), which has been widely shared and mocked online.
Madhav admitted that his performance in 'Kummattikali' was up to mark and felt that the film itself did not provide a strong canvas. He noted that despite this, he is the only one being singled out, with people repeatedly telling him to stop acting because he is not suited for it. He made it clear that he would only step away if, after trying, he proves to himself that he is not cut out for acting. Otherwise, he intends to continue.
Reflecting on the experience, Madhav said he cannot change what has already been done but wishes he had thought it through a bit more at the time. According to him, the film that eventually reached audiences was not the same as what had been narrated to him. He explained that this is something many actors experience: a script may sound exciting in narration, but once shooting begins, it can turn into something else entirely. He added that one might go in imagining a certain budget and scale, but by the end of production, it often becomes clear that only a fraction of that vision has made it to the screen.
