The world of Avatar is set to expand once again with the release of ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, the third instalment in James Cameron’s iconic sci-fi franchise. Scheduled for a global release on December 19, 2025, the film promises to take audiences deeper into the rich, otherworldly terrain of Pandora.

The makers revealed the first-look poster on Tuesday, introducing a striking new character — Varang, played by Oona Chaplin. Varang is described as the formidable leader of the Mangkwan Clan, also known as the Ash People — a new group of Na’vi who inhabit Pandora’s volcanic, fire-scarred regions. Their fiery territory marks a sharp contrast to the lush rainforests and oceans seen in previous films, adding an entirely new layer to the planet’s diverse ecosystem.

Unlike the clear moral divisions of earlier villains, Varang is expected to bring a more nuanced and morally complex presence to the story. Her arrival hints at fresh internal conflicts among the Na’vi, and possibly, new alliances and betrayals.

Returning cast members include Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and Sigourney Weaver, ensuring continuity in the franchise’s emotional core while the world around them evolves.
