Malayalam film stars pay tribute to former Kerala CM VS Achuthanandan

The Malayalam film fraternity mourned the loss of V S Achuthanandan, the former Chief Minister and Communist stalwart, who passed away on Monday. The veteran politician passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering commitment to social justice and the common man.
Among those who paid heartfelt tribute was actor Mohanlal, who took to Facebook to express his deep respect. “A true people’s leader who transformed life into a relentless struggle for justice. My heartfelt tributes to beloved comrade V S Achuthanandan. It has been my privilege to share a lifelong bond with a personality who embodied the hopes and dreams of ordinary people. Having served three times as Leader of the Opposition and once as Chief Minister, he stood firmly by his principles and ideals. He will forever live in the hearts of Malayalis,” wrote Mohanlal.
Actor Mammootty also expressed his condolences, writing, “Heartfelt tributes to dear comrade V.S. Achuthanandan.” Suresh Gopi paid homage to the leader, describing him as “the people’s own warrior leader of the Malayalis.”
Other prominent actors, including Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, and Soubin Shahir, also offered their respects, reflecting the deep admiration for Achuthanandan across the Malayalam film community.
Achuthanandan had been undergoing treatment since June 23, following a cardiac arrest. His political journey included seven terms as a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly and three terms as the Leader of the Opposition. He served as Kerala’s Chief Minister from 2006 to 2011, leaving behind a legacy defined by integrity, resilience, and an unyielding commitment to the people.
