Are leaked videos ruining the 'Devil Wears Prada 2' experience? A film director writes

Meryl Streep and Anna Hathaway are all set to return as Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs in sequel of 'Devil Wears Prada. The announcement has sparked plenty of excitment with fans eagerly waiting for the release of the movie next year. Recently, several videos of the iconic duo walking and shooting in the streets of Manhattan in New York  have gone viral after the makers reportedly leaked the video clips themselves. 

While the one to two minute videos, featuring both the actors enacting their scenes in stylish avatars and attitudes, have generated sufficient buzz, a few fans feel such videos will dampen the excitement and the mystery around the film. One person commented: "So we are going to see the whole movie before it even comes out." Another person wrote: I low-key want people to stop posting about it. I wanna be surprised and excited by the looks.

Indian film director Indhu V S known for helming the Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen film '19 (1) (a) also pointed out why she did not want to be bombarded by these video clips on her social media feed. "Okay. So here is my humble (n slightly desperate) request to The Devil Wears Prada 2 team and everyone hanging around those Manhattan/NYC sets

We’ve seen it all. Anne Hathaway walking out of buildings and cars from every possible angle. Miranda Priestly’s iconic walk from 9 different fan cams. May be half the costumes, most of the BTS and probably 50% of the movie.
