My name is Venkitesh; I am from Kerala. You can call me Venky. I began my career doing small roles in Malayalam industry. Later I got roles with dialogues and also played a villain role in Tamil. Now, I have acted in the Telugu movie Kingdom. It took me nine years to get here. I am proud of myself about it. Thank you Sitara Entertainments for giving me this opportunity. This is the first movie in which a caravan door was opened for me,” said Venkitesh to the thunderous applauds of the audience.
“I come from a very humble background. That’s why I have immense respect for that life and am proud of my journey. I am grateful to the cast and crew of this movie. I hope that this movie does well. I wish that I am able to work with this production company again. I would even like to act as a hero in a movie produced by them. That is the reason why I have trimmed my beard and moustache. All the producers and directors who are present here should consider me in their next movie. Besides, I myself have dubbed in this movie,” announced Venkitesh.
He also shared an interesting incident when he couldn’t attend music director Aniruddh’s concert at Kochi and casually told his friends that he would instead act in a movie with music composed by Aniruddh. He even had the song ‘Poda, antha Andavane Namma Pakka Irikka’ as his ringtone. “I have not imagined even in my dreams that I would act in a movie composed by Aniruddh. I couldn’t go when my friends invited me for Aniruddh’s concert in Kochi. I then casually told them that I would instead act in a film with music by Aniruddh. But, it came true. Now I can have the BGM composed by Aniruddh for me as my ringtone. I am really excited,” he stated.
Venky recalled how people in Kerala have reacted when he told them he was doing a movie in Telugu with Vijay Devarakonda. He said that he understood the hard work and passion behind Vijay’s success when he saw the excitement on their faces. “Winning the applauds and love of the audience is not an easy task. You posted my character poster as your story yesterday and even wrote kind words about me. Besides, lots of people shared my character poster. This character poster had given me immense popularity than all the characters that I have played so far. I noticed that Vijay Devarakonda’s mother blowing his kisses as he walked to the stage. My mother was clapping with excitement when I played her this movie’s trailer. Her name is Thara and she is my biggest fan. I would like to dedicate this movie to my mother and father. My father is no longer with us, but it was he who turned me into a Thalaivar fan. Listening to a speech by Thalaivar could instantly charge me”, Venky said.
Thanking the movie’s director Gautham, Venky revealed that he was cast in the movie even without an audition. “He treated me like a star. He called me this morning and even spoke to my mother. He told my mother that her son was a talented actor. His words were like an award for me. I request all of you to applaud for my intro scene when the movie releases on July 31,” Venky told an excited audience.
